Reno could get a downhill mountain bike trail, if you vote

An iconic Reno ski resort that’s been teaching people how to ski for decades wants to do the same for mountain biking. The Reno Gazette Journal says Sky Tavern Ski Area is one of three west coast competitors vying for a $100,000 trail building grant from Bell Helmet. At last check, Sky Tavern was in the lead with more than 3,900 votes. If Sky Tavern wins, owners say they’ll use the money to build an advance level downhill trail. The ski resort seeks to increase its 2.5 miles of trail to almost 15, using the trails to teach and to host races on the weekends. You have until April 26th to vote at www.bellhelmets.com/bell-built/.
