Sierra drought to make for dismal boating season on Lake Takoe

It wasn’t a good year for skiing in the Sierra, and it won’t be a good summer for boating on Lake Tahoe. The drought is expected to keep the busiest boat-launching ramps at the mountain lake resort remain closed the entire season due to low water levels. The summer boating season typically opens in two weeks, but with Sierra snowpack at its lowest level in a century, Lake Tahoe Nevada State Parks say that won’t happen this year. An improvement in water levels isn’t expected until at least the fall.
