Sun Valley man arrested for attempted armed robbery

Deputies from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office arrested an 18-year-old Sun Valley man Thursday night for the attempted armed robbery of a Sun Valley restaurant employee. The robbery apparently happened at the Panda House restaurant at about 8 p.m. Thursday. Police heard that an employee had been threatened by a knife-wielding suspect while the worker was taking out the trash. The victim said the suspect demanded money from him. The suspect left on foot after the victim insisted, multiple times, that he had no money. The suspect was taken into custody in the area of Sun Valley Boulevard and Second Avenue. That suspect is 18 year old David Calderon.
