Reno firefighters’ legal alcohol level

Firefighters in Reno can battle flames with a blood alcohol content as high as .08, accoding to a policy negotiated by the city and the firefighting union 12 yeas ago. The Reno Gazette Journal reports that while drug and alcohol use are not permitted, an alcohol test is not considered positive below that level. To be change, the policy would have to become part of the collective bargaining process.
