Reno non profit gets grant to help homeless youth

The U.S. Department of Labor is awarding $1.5 million to a Reno nonprofit that helps runaways and homeless youth get back on their feet. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced Tuesday that The Children’s Cabinet received the grant through the agency’s Face Forward Initiative. The program aims to reintegrate youth into their communities after they’ve spent time in the juvenile justice system. Grant winners are supposed to provide services including job training and mentoring.
